Welcome Centre Immigrant Services logo


The Welcome Centre Immigrant Services is a safe, friendly and supportive place where newcomers can go to get information and participate in programs and services that will help them get established quickly and successfully in their new community. All the programs offered at the Welcome Centres are provided by community agencies that have partnered in a common goal to welcome newcomers to Durham region. 
 

Key day to day services offered include:

Settlement Services – immigration questions answered, forms filled out, finding affordable housing, getting your health card, social insurance number, and anything to do with easing the stress of settling.

English Language Classes – ESL and LINC (Language Instructions for Newcomers) for immigrants and Canadians who wish to learn to read, write and speak English.


Employment Support
– programs that will help you with resume and cover letters, mentoring opportunities, fully equipped resource areas, and more.


Accreditation Information
– information and support for internationally trained professionals.
