We know that learning is important to you and that it may be overwhelming getting used to a new education system.
In Durham you have access to a world class college or university education - all right on your doorstep. Not sure what the difference between a college and university is? See our Post Secondary Education page to learn more.
If you are wondering how to go about enrolling your children in school - you will find information and links to help you on the Primary and Secondary School page.
If you need assistance, perhaps in a language other than English you can contact Community Development Council of Durham and they will be happy to help you.
Canada Learning Bond
The Canada Learning Bond is money that the Government of Canada deposits directly into a child's Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) account to help parents get a head-start on saving for their child's education after high school. After high school, your child can withdraw the money to help pay for either full-time or part-time studies:
- in an apprenticeship program
- at a CEGEP
- at a trade school
- at a college
- at a university
The Canada Learning Bond is available to children:
For more information on the Canada Learning Bond, please see the Government of Canada's website.
