Sam Yuen immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in 1988 at the age of 32. Only a few short months upon arrival to Canada, Sam bought a restaurant franchise in the Pickering Town Centre—Edo Japan—a popular Japanese cuisine restaurant located in the main food court of the mall.
When the bubbly man with the infectious smile shared his secret to success it came as no surprise: “Smiling is important. A smile for each of our customers is always good.” Sam continued, “Enjoy your job. Everyday is a new day!”
Having a positive outlook on life could be the key to Sam’s 22 years of business success and is certainly something we can all learn from.
