Bahi Krishnakhanthan

I overcame setbacks to have successes in Canada.

Bahi Krishnakhanthan teaching a classI emigrated to Canada 27 years ago from Sri Lanka on “Merit”. Though I had my accounting degree from England, I had to go through the accreditation process to get my Canadian designation. It took a couple of years to obtain the Canadian degrees, CMA Ontario and RIA Alberta, while working through several stressors and barriers. In the absence of any family in Canada, I had to support myself. I was focused in succeeding in my career. The hard work and dedication paid off with great successes in my life. I worked as an Accounting Manager, Financial Controller and Corporate Tax Auditor with private corporations, federal and municipal governments.

In the midst of my great successes in accounting, I found my passion was to influence people to live a better quality of life. So I went back to school to become a Spiritual Psychotherapist. I am currently a motivation speaker and a counsellor. I work with youth, adults, immigrants, business and professional women, social and community groups and not for profit organizations at the national, provincial and municipal levels.

I took leadership with several community organizations. This has given not only personal satisfaction but also many national, provincial and regional awards that I did not expect. In 2008, I received the Governor General’s “Caring Canadian Award.”

Also, the Canadian Federation for Business & Professional Clubs presented the “2006 National Leadership Award” for improving the economic, social and employment conditions of women.”
I was selected as, “2004 Public Speaking Champion” by the Eastern Ontario Division Toastmasters.

Are you following your passion to live your best life now or finding excuses not to live your best life? When you follow your passion, the money and success will follow. Set your sail to have positive results in your life. People fail because their dreams are not big enough. When your dreams are bigger than your challenges, you are destined to succeed. Prepare a plan, take opportunities as they present and be focused in the end result. Life will throw some unexpected challenges along the way but with grace you can continue the process. You are destined to live your dreams.
