Things have really taken shape at the Welcome Centre Pickering. Located at 1400 Bayly Street, the new Welcome Centre Pickering provides many services for the newcomer community in the Pickering area and is designed to be “a one-stop shop” for newcomers to Canada. Recent renovations to the space include the addition of a reception area, “hotelling” offices which can be shared by partners providing services at the centre on an itinerant basis, an additional classroom, a workshop room and a LINC assessment office.
The Welcome Centre Pickering is a collaborative effort between the Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre and Durham Continuing Education and is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
