If you do not have a family doctor, Health Care Connect can help you. Health Care Connects is a program launched by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to help Ontarians find a family health care provider. By registering with Health Care Connect, you will be assigned a Care Connector to help you find family health care in your community. There are two ways to register for Health Care Connects, call 1-800-445-1822 or register online.
You should start by doing your research - is there a need for the product or service you are proposing? What are the overhead costs, risks, etc. At any time during this process you can contact the local business advisory centre and/or any of the municipal economic development departments for direction.
At this time, there are a few international specialty grocers in the Durham Region.

An emergency is any situation where:
- There is a crime in progress
- There is a serious medical situation or injury where help is needed immediately
- There is a fire
- There is a major environment concern (i.e. gas leak)
